PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

4/08 to present - Business Development Manager, Clean Energy Projects for Cities & Counties, Siemens Building Technologies. Develop project packages comprised of energy conservation, water conservation, and renewable energy generation (solar, wind, biogas) that pay for themselves with energy and water savings.

3/95 to 1/08 - Independent Consulting Civil Engineer, specializing in geographic information system (GIS) issues: conversion and quality control of utilities and infrastructure data, land boundaries, GPS implementation, strategic planning, CAD/GIS integration, and application development.

1/91 to 3/95 GIS - Management Specialist, City of Palo Alto, CA, Utilities, Public Works and Planning departments. Implemented geographic information system (GIS) and computer aided design (CAD) system. Developed user applications for engineers. Maintained software and hardware. Assured quality of conversion vendors' data.

1/89 to 9/89 - Facilities Engineering Specialist, McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Information Services (MDAIS), Long Beach, CA. Performed design and construction management for tenant improvements. Oversaw contractors. Supervised 5 engineers and CAD system. Developed and implemented emergency response plans.

6/88 to 1/89 - Senior Facilities Engineer, MDAIS, Long Beach, CA. VAX system manager. Created CAD symbology, menus, macros and ordering procedures for building materials, furniture, equipment, and hardware. Coordinated CAD standards with engineering contractors.

8/86 to 5/88 - Facilities Engineer, Douglas Aircraft Company (DAC), Long Beach, CA. Created CAD environments for civil, electrical, architectural, HVAC, and process piping. Taught CAD to 80 engineers. Developed methods to map 275 acres of manufacturing plant facilities.

ELECTED OFFICE

2007 - Mayor, Menlo Park Priorities included aggressive economic development; climate change initiatives; planning new vision for downtown; infrastructure, environment and water policy. Initiated city council strategic planning and goal setting. Promoted “Green Alley” retail concept.

12/04 to present - Menlo Park City Councilwoman Elected 11/2004 with the most votes of four candidates (two were elected). Menlo Park has 32,000 residents, 19 square miles, and $60 million annual budget.
